NEW IT EQUIPMENT

2000 new computers with peripherals installed in 98 VET schools in Serbia

2000 new computers with peripherals were installed in 98 VET schools included in VET Reform Programme, pursuant to the decision of the Ministry of Education. European Union, through the European Agency for Reconstruction, had made available 1.9 million Euros for procurement of modern IT equipment.

By the means of providing one IT classroom for each of the 98 schools and thus enabling the implementation of teaching with the support of educational softwares, conditions for gaining IT literacy have been improved significantly. Along with computers, the schools received laser printers, scanners, photocopy machines, overhead projectors, television sets and "smart" white boards.

Specialised equipment, necessary for the implementation of pilot curricula, will be delivered in the beginning of 2008. For procurement of specialised equipment for workshops and practice classrooms ("kabineti") in 22 schools directly involved in Vocational Education and Training Reform Programme 1.1 million euros has been made available.
