INNOVATION FUND
Innovation Fund allows possibility of direct involvement of an extended number of actors at all levels in the vocational education and training reform. Such actors can indicatively be VET schools, universities, chambers of commerce, trade unions, local authorities, NGOs and other public institutions that, within their work framework, deal with vocational education and training and adult education issues.

"Innovation" , in this case, is used to mean upgrading and development of educational work in schools, both in didactic as well as in pedagogical sense.
Therefore, the VET Reform Programme will support innovative projects in a number of thematic areas. Among other areas these projects may include identification of training needs, establishment of standards of knowledge and skills, defining core skills, development of training programmes for adults, involvement of social partners and enterprises in VET programme development and implementation (including work put into practice and on-the-job training), establishment of new regional and national networks among VET stakeholders and much more.

The Fund operates with 1.68 million euros. The distribution of funds will be made on a competitive basis, according to submitted applications on precisely defined criteria.

In the period January 2005 to May 2006 37 grant projects were implemented in the framework of an Innovation Fund. The projects are shortly presented below with contact details.
